Unloading and Setting Up the
Pianella Modell 12
Monstre Paganini Orchestrion

Unloading the Paganini's heavy main chassis with a fork lift.

On June 4, 2000, about four weeks after the Monstre Paganini's was shipped from Germany, it was delivered by truck to Jim Krughoff's home. Here, with the help of German crew that had restored the machine, the heavy main chassis is being off-loaded from its container by fork-lift.

With the huge chassis assembly safely off of the truck and resting on the floor of its luxurious new home, it is now time to begin erection of the structural framework that makes up the furniture case.

With the case framework firmly in place installation can begin for the Melodie Violin swell chamber and the devices behind it (in the center area), as well as for the trapwork (percussion instruments) to be mounted in the right side-wing compartment. Then, once these components are in place and all tubing connections secured, the 625 pipes will be installed.
