Welte Style 6 Concert Orchestrion
in the H.C. Frick home (Clayton),
Pittsburg, Pennsylvania

The beautiful Frick Welte Style 6 Concert Orchestrion in Clayton, the Frick Mansion.

This beautiful example of an early Welte orchestrion, still in its original spectacular location, can be enjoyed to this day by visitors to the Frick Art & Historical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Originally clockwork powered (i.e., by a large weight suspended on a pulley and cable arrangement on the backside of the case), it was converted to electric operation in 1904 by Emil Welte.
