Figure 39a. Welte Style 6 Concert Orchestrion built in 1895 for the Masch. Fabrik der K. Ung. Staatseisenbahnen in Budapest, as listed in a German catalogue. This organ was very nearly lost when it was broken up for parts in the 1960s. The empty case had a door cut into the front for use as a closet. Fortunately, a German collector was able to locate and acquire most of the parts from three locations in Budapest and thus saved the instrument. Here the grand machine is shown undergoing a thorough restoration. For this particular organ both the Trompet and Clarinet pipes are in brass, and in this picture the two sets of radiating brass resonators are clearly distinguishable.

Figure 39b. Here is the Budapest Welte Style 6 Concert Orchestrion, built in 1895, after restoration was completed. Notice the two sets of radiating brass resonators visible in the upper center glass window. In this organ both the Trompet and Clarinet pipes are in brass. The casework is of pine and was originally painted with false graining. It now has an ebonized finish with gold leaf accents.
