This complicated pump was used in the Seeburg Phono-Grand, PGA, and early style X. The spring-loaded countershaft and speed reducing pulley took the place of the large pulley on the usual scissors pump. In the Phono-Grand, this made room for the piano expression mechanisms and phonograph. This system was also used in early style X expression pianos. (Seeburg X #11,929, made in 1918.)

Another variety of Seeburg pump with large pulley, longer bellows than usual, and a stationary center board as in later Western Electric pumps. This style was used in early 1920s style X expression pianos, certain small photoplayers, and pipe organ player consoles. (Seeburg X #54,588, made in 1922.)
