Interior view of the PianOrchestra. The wooden box, electrical lamps and
mechanical mechanism that provides the projected sense of
animation for the Roman fountain scene is not installed. Otto
Carlsen kept but never restored nor attempted to replace the
fragile loose mesh cloth belt that provided the projected sense
of animation. Moreover, Otto stated that the instrument was
easier to service without the scene animation mechanism
installed.
This instrument is currently in the Nethercutt collection,
Sylmar, California. |
