Figure 16. The Style 2 Cottage Orchestrion was the first to display a set of radiating brass Trompette pipes. With 44 playing notes, the pipework consists of Trompette, Wien Flote, Gedeckt, and Zinn, for a total of 146 pipes. The Trompette replaced the Clarinette of the Style 1 Cottage Orchestrion and a Gedeckt register consisting of stopped wood pipes was added. Also added to most Style 2 Cottage Orchestrions was a bass drum with tympani effect and cymbal. |
