The Mills Symmetrical Piano

A Mills Magnetic Expression Piano with the back swung open to show the interior mechanisms and the symmetrical piano. Note the bass piano strings at the center of the heavy duty cast iron piano plate. Below the piano action are two banks of electromagnets, for which each individual magnet is aligned to push up on a piano action wippen, thus sounding a particular piano note. Connecting the piano magnets to the Violano-Virtuoso main chassis is a long wrapped and flexible multi-conductor electrical cable.
